Our Management Team

James Albert Kehoe, O.N.S.M


James began his career in the construction industry as a carpenter, through his initiative and hard work started his own company, Joneljim Concrete Construction in 1970. Joneljim has grown to a general construction and project management company that has revenues in excess of 60 million and employs over 150 trades people.

The Joneljim Group of Company’s also includes three building supply operations, a millwork operation and residential and commercial rental properties.

James is involved in the day to day operation of his company from estimating, negotiating contracts to managing the projects. These projects range in value from five hundred thousand to fifteen million dollars.

James has been among the first to receive the Order of Nova Scotia. He received this prestigious award in September 2002. This award is given to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the economic well-being of the province.

Gary Peach, G.S.C.

Technical Manager

Gary began his career with Joneljim in 1994, bringing with him vast experience and knowledge of the construction industry. Gary started working for Maritime Builders, Sydney, NS in 1973 as an Estimator/Project Manager, he became President of Maritime Builders from 1985 to 1992. Gary was also employed as Estimator/Project Manager for Pembroke Construction, Glace Bay, NS in 1992.

Gary has received the Canadian Construction Association’s Gold Seal Certified Estimator honor in 1999.

Gary serves/served on numerous boards, some of which are listed below:

  • Member of the Board of Directors – Cape Breton Island Builders Exchange
  • Past member of Board of Directors – Construction Association of Nova Scotia (Acknowledged for recruiting the most new members in one year)
  • Past Trustee – Carpenters Stabilization Fund

Everett Knickle, B.A., C.A.

Corporate Controller

Everett is corporate controller for the Joneljim Group of Companies, which include a general contractor, building supply operations, millwork operation and a window manufacturer.

Everett is responsible for the financial operations of Joneljim Concrete Construction. He handles the financial arrangement for the company’s banking, bonding and insurance requirements.

Everett has been involved in the financial area of all of the company’s major projects for the past ten years. These would include P-3 Schools, Sherwood Park Education Centre and UCCB Campus Expansion.

  • Graduate of St. Mary’s University, 1981
  • Successfully completed numerous courses from the Atlantic Provinces Association of Chartered Accountants
  • Chartered Accountant – New Brunswick, 1987
  • Chartered Accountant – Nova Scotia, 1988
  • Various professional development courses offered through Corporate and Industry affiliations including courses on construction law and computer accounting.

Jon Cecchetto, CET

General Manager

Throughout his career Mr. Cecchetto has worked on numerous projects some small, others with values of over 1 billion dollars. Always keeping the client in mind, Jon strives to complete the project on time and on budget.

Jon is responsible for various activities including but not limited preparing complete estimates, schedules and tender documents; ensuring insurance and bonding requirements are in place; negotiating and securing contracts with all owners, subtrades, and suppliers; purchasing all necessary materials; organizing, attending, and recording all jobsite meetings; preparing contract close out documentation; labour negotiations and is a member Society of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists of Nova Scotia.
